Empanar Barcelona: A Cozy Brunch & Coffee Spot in Poblenou

Think of a healthy brunch, freshly made empanadas, and a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, all enjoyed in a space that exudes cozy island tropical vibes—warm wooden accents, lush greenery, and soft, inviting lighting. Whether you’re looking for a slow morning indulgence or a laid-back afternoon with good food, Empanar in Poblenou is a spot worth visiting.

This charming café opened just last year, following the closure of their original location in Eixample. While it’s always bittersweet to see a place go, I’m glad they kept this one because it fits so well with Poblenou’s relaxed, creative energy—where old industrial spaces meet cool cafés, art studios, and a slower pace of city life.

Empanar is perfect for unwinding—whether you’re catching up with friends over coffee or stopping by for happy hour to enjoy their thoughtfully crafted cocktails. And if you’re up for a stroll, the beach is just a 15-minute walk away, making it an ideal spot to start—or end—your day in Poblenou.

If you’re on the hunt for a brunch spot that breaks away from the usual fare, look no further. T.44 in Poble Nou is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in the city.

I love how Poble Nou has transformed into a vibrant hub for new and exciting spots in Barcelona. Once an industrial neighborhood, it’s now buzzing with creativity and innovation, earning its nickname as the “Silicon Valley of Barcelona.” Amidst the sleek modern buildings and revamped warehouses, you’ll find hidden gems like T.44.

Located, fittingly, on Calle Taulat 44, T.44 offers a brunch menu that’s anything but ordinary. Think bold combinations, seasonal ingredients, or creative twists on classics.

The best part? The cozy atmosphere and welcoming vibe make it the perfect spot to start your day or catch up with friends.

  • Morning Coffee & Pastries in Poble Nou, Barcelona: A Hidden Gem

Morning Coffee & Pastries in Poble Nou, Barcelona: A Hidden Gem

Somehow, against all odds, I’ve become that person—the one who wakes up early by choice to squeeze in a gym session, a coffee stop, and still have time to get ready for the day. I don’t know how it happened, but one morning, I just woke up and wanted to. What the what.

One of my favorite post-workout coffee spots? Little Fern Café, a newly opened gem tucked away in Poble Nou neighbourhood. This cozy little café is minimalist yet inviting, with earthy tones, soft lighting, and an effortlessly cool vibe. While it doesn’t have much seating—just a built-in nook that fits about three people—it’s worth a stop for their pastries alone. Especially their Danish Crème Brûlée. Flaky, creamy, caramelized perfection.

Bonus? You’re almost guaranteed to spot some adorable dogs along the way.

A few blocks down, and you’re at the beach. Highly recommend grabbing your coffee and pastry to go, taking a slow stroll towards the shore, and just soaking it all in. Mornings like these? Chef’s kiss.
